Having come along this byway from the opposite direction, there were no notices displayed to say "expect 20tonnes of rubble at the end of this road" The byway was in the process of being re-surfaced, we met the other vehicles at that point. Unfortunately one of these vehicles had broken down, and could not move, without a lot of assistance.

Byway has now been re-surfaced.
